Welcome

The Middle Thames Bird Conservation Trust was set up in 2019 to support the conservation efforts of the Middle Thames Ringing Group including the activities of the Bisham Barn Owl Group (blog).

We manage several woodland nest box schemes ringing Blue Tit, Great Tit, Marsh Tit and Nuthatch chicks. We also work with local farms who have joined the Central Chilterns Farmer Cluster, part of the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs Landscape Partnership, and the Christmas Common Farm Cluster.

We carry out mist-netting sessions at several sites in the area for warblers, waders and winter thrushes.

We would be interested in monitoring farmland birds in the area too, so if you are a farmer/landowner with suitable land and an interest in conservation, please get in touch.
